Our Story
Born from Greek heritage, brewed in the heart of New York. We are more than a coffee shop — we are home.
Our Foundation
Café Lyria was established in 2022 at 166 Crosby Street, tucked into the renovated lobby of a NoHo building. Founded by brothers Yannis and Theo Mastoros from Kefalos, a small village on the Greek island of Kos, the café is a dedication to their grandmother's living room.
Our name draws from the ancient Greek concept of lyrical expression — the art of conveying deep emotion through carefully chosen words. Just as poets craft verses that resonate with the soul, we craft each cup to create a meaningful experience that goes beyond great taste.
What We Stand For
We partner directly with coffee farmers who practice sustainable growing methods, ensuring every bean we serve supports healthy communities and environments around the world.
Every espresso shot, every pastry, every signature drink is made with meticulous care. We invest in quality equipment and ongoing barista training so every visit lives up to our standards.
Café Lyria is a gathering point, a creative incubator, and a peaceful retreat. We actively support local artists and maintain sustainable practices that respect our city and planet.
